What difference does the diffuser make when filming?
The diffuser spreads the LED output across a wider area, softening shadows and reducing the harsh reflections that direct LEDs can create on skin, wet surfaces, or nearby objects. It also shifts the colour temperature from 5700K to a slightly warmer 5000K, which gives skin tones a softer, less clinical look at close range. This makes handheld footage feel more balanced during vlogging, interviews, or night shooting, where the light sits close to the subject.
Can the Light Mod 2 run from external power while filming?
Yes. The updated design leaves access to the USB-C power door, so the light can stay connected to an external power source while in use. This is useful during longer recording sessions where the internal battery alone would not last through extended shooting.
How bright is the Light Mod 2 compared to the previous version?
The updated model increases maximum output to 200 lumens in Overdrive mode, giving noticeably stronger close-range illumination than the earlier Light Mod.
