It is powered by a built-in AES-XTS 256-bit full disk hardware encryption engine that encrypts all data in real-time. It requires a 7-15 digit PIN authentication for seamless access. The hard drive comes with a dedicated hardware-based (Common Criteria EAL 5+) secure microprocessor that has a built-in safety mechanism to protect it against bypass attacks, external tamper and more. It is compatible with all the devices with a USB port and can suitably work on all operating systems like Android, macOS. Linux, MS Windows, and Chrome.

    On-Device Crypto Chip for Enhanced Security

    The iStorage diskAshur Pro2 256-bit FIPS Certified features a dedicated secure microprocessor that encrypts all data with AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption. It generates the data encryption key as a random number with the help of a Common Criteria EAL4+ ready random number generator and built-in cryptography assisted by the chip. Besides this, the tamper-proof design with all the components covered by a layer of epoxy resin prevents any potential hacker from accessing invaluable data or digital assets.

    Safeguards against Brute Force Hacking

    Even when a hacker tries to force their way into hacking the data, they may not be able to do so, as it allows only 15 consecutive PIN entries from the user. After each 5 repeated wrong PIN entries, the drive freezes, requiring you to use some specific methods to get more chances for entering the correct PIN. On the 15th incorrect PIN input, the device deletes the encryption key and locks itself and all the data is lost forever. After that, it can only be factory reset and redeployed.
